If there's one big issue I have with FF1, it's the magic system. It's seriously busted.
Healing magic is especially important, but you can't replenish MP in a dungeon, so most of the time your mages are just doing chip damage while they conserve their spells for later. Hope you brought Potions!

For the record, I'm playing the PS1 version, which to me has the perfect balance of old-school jank and QOL fixes.
Intelligence is still totally useless, but it's nice that my Warriors and Monks aren't swinging their fists at empty air.
