Yeah I mostly got mine from trade shows instead of the internet to save money, Here's some examples from Thailand and Japan.

Tron Ares (2025) - A real visual spectacle and I was pleasantly surprised by it, I felt the character of Ares was a neat way to shake up the story and the movie really opened up some doors for the series which I want to see explored.

The Shining (1980) - A film with some real depth to it, the atmosphere is perfectly mixed and there are countless details you pick up on as you watch the Torrance family suffer in their isolation. The characters were also pleasingly competent which upped the stakes when things start to go wrong.

The Phantom Carriage (1921) - The less interesting of the three but it was an interest to watch it before The Shining and see how it influenced it, The effects and the novel portrayal of death are the reason to seek it out.

In the last night my film viewing has been eclectic but I liked them all, In the following comments I'll give my thoughts on them.

I dug out a photo of it, I sourced new body parts in standard green and added new brass nameplates / numbers so it's now a World War 2 locomotive.

One lost one was actually found recently by the "Film is fabulous" initiative, it's an Edison title from 1913.

I added to my collection of framed art by having a picture of my Space knights @ruv.bsky.social drew under my PC screen. Desktop background by Kamiduzaurus.

If anything it might inspire some abstract art or cause crippling nightmares. One of the famous scenes was one where a boxer seemed to be sparring with entropy.

I haven't been able to find much about this title other than it was a Mountain Films reissue from the 1960's and it shares its name with a 1935 British Film though what little information there is of it online does not seem to line up, If anyone has answers I'd be curious to know it's origin. 2/2

I've found myself stepping into territory more familiar to @moviessilently.bsky.social, I found a toy projector in a charity shop and after getting it somewhat functional found it had some sort of mystery silent film paired with it titled as "The Big Splash" 1/2

An example of how a paint job can turn a plastic toy into a model. This is a Hornby Bridge I worked on last night.

Last night I watched "The Third Man" (1949) with some folks on my server, a terrific film with great cinematography and an unforgettable soundtrack. I had no idea where the story was headed and boy was it a good ride. #films
