Why don’t the key defensive specialists and penalty killers/guys who play final 2 minutes defending a lead, have wood sticks to use in these situations, maybe even longer ones than their composite ones to help break up plays, to ensure they don’t break and leave them scrambling?

For the good of the team and Crosby himself, he should insist on a trade to a contender to enable the team to accumulate some good picks/prospects, and also give him a couple more legitimate chances at another Cup. This treading water just sets them back and must frustrate the other guys.
