I think what's behind is that the number tightness is "hidden" to the player. It works, and if you trust the system you don't have to check why (so seemingless)

(be careful the last optional fight might look hard for new players, as a GM I suggest running the monster unoptimally, as its age suggests)

Glad you're hyped!
I personnally love it.
You could check out some combat skill actions descriptions, that can even inspire the game master as well (looking at skills in a monster stat block can inspire in their strategy).
But honestly the begginer box introduces that just when needed

Isn't that... Armor Class? 🙈
If it is the other way round, I tend to use Active Defense in my games. Players rolls their defense (D20+Armor class-10), against the ennemy "attack DC" (attack bonus+11).

Lore would be nice, there is a nice "PF2 lore in 7 minutes or less" that covers it in great length. I also wonder how Lore is or not ORC Protected content?

I've also never seen content about why it would be hard to create an Owlcat Games-like Wrath of the Righteous/Kingmaker in PF2.
And I have a feeling that if that hasn't been done it's because the system don't permit it.

A nice idea might be "Pathfinder 2 design dismantled". Like why does it work. It could inspire some new TTRPG creator. The Rules Lawyer does not do exactly that (even if his Law School Series is quite thorough).

No I was talking the other way 'round :)
Take beastmaster first, then dip into the blessed one with just the dedication, and finally continue with those awesome lategame beastmaster feats.
Sorry if I wasn't clear 🙈

Btw a "witcher" thaumaturge is such a cool concept! I've never thought of it but it fits so nicely

Great choice then :)
The good part about the blessed one is that you only need the dedication to have the heightened Lay on hands (all that you need honestly). So you could go beastmaster then take just the blessed one dedication (at lvl 8, or 6 if you take a beastmaster feat as a class feat)

Beastmaster is often a solid choice, however with a thaumaturge you shall not have a lot of actions to spare to command your animal companion. Blessed one scales veeery well and you might fullfill the prerequisites, so that would be my advice (and you can flavor it as heck). Don't know the slayer
