Sara, administration spokesperson, hasn’t been to a grocery store lately. On our farm, all prices for inputs are higher. Living expenses are up, whether due to tariffs or their input costs, is disputable. Electricity is set to go way up.

Business will not replace this, as the business model doesn’t exist. Snow supply and soil research is being dismantled. We will be a poorer nation and world. We just lost locally a soil scientist who is going to Canada. She left our land grant university anticipating the future repercussions.

We had cattle for years and never had a loss to coyotes. The local coyotes have options for voles sound us and tend to leave us alone. We had one coming in, so I shot behind him as he left and never saw him close again. Rangeland coyotes might be a different animal. I don’t know.
