I’m hearing from a friend they were spotted by drivers on the A9. Something tells me this release was not done with the animals’ safety in mind.

Though I can’t see wolf reintroduction happening in our lifetime, I wouldn’t be surprised if lynx were reintroduced within the next century or even half century. The appetite and support among the public is already there, it just needs a more concerted effort to get landowners on side.

As a beekeeper I totally agree with all of this, and hope someday it will be understood better by the public. All non-domesticated pollinators are so important and so at risk, and creating more habitat for them is the only way to help.

The issue many are taking is that most farmers are not wealthy and so don’t have the means to pay back that amount. If my parents were to die tomorrow, my brother and I would either have to give up the whole farm or face bankruptcy.
