Writerly, despite it all.
I hope that I can get back to the way I was, back before we knew what I’d become.

Amidst all the turmoil, I braved a book store. I found some really cool books, as well as some relics. That Oblivion issue of Game Informer is from October 2004! What a score.

“name a perfect album from the 90’s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains”

Will anyone else meet me here? At the Dam at Otter Creek?

Choosing between this and Balatro was awful…but I have a feeling Balatro will get its flowers (it already has). Pacific Drive is so good. Harrowing and relaxing all at once, and with a killer UI.

Enough has already been said Akita Yamaoka, so I’ll just leave it at that. I do know many other audio engineers worked on this game though, and their work truly payed off.

All of the nominees have truly incredible music, engineered and performed by true talent, but Metaphor remains truly *unique*. The Esperanto-inspired chanting aside, it maintains a sound that is thoroughly triumphant, kingly, and nostalgic.

……okay I hadn’t really played the other games as much, but also look at this game!!
November 18, 2024 at 9:48 PM
Again I’m sorry….this story changed me. Metaphor and its narrative stamp its foot down and say “No, fantasy DOES matter.” The game argues what a great leader, and thereby a true hero, needs more than strength is curiosity and imagination. It couldn’t have arrived in my life at a better time.

Pretty much the same as the previous post, though I will say that Katsura Hashino is cemented as an industry innovator, and he always guides teams to a singular, yet holistic vision.

The bias starts early. I have MANY thoughts about Metaphor. It was hard to not vote for it in every single category it was nominated. I think, more than most of Atlus’s recent catalog, it accomplishes everything it sets out to do, and then some. It has changed me, which rarely happens now.

Too early for a review obviously, but it’s got maps! Always promising
