I'm a data scientist but political violence threatens my job. I am struggling to support my family financially but hold two graduate degrees. What the hell happened?
This one just radiates love and joy all day long.

Thank you for picking this up. I've seen his recent work on dental fillings in just 15 women 😑. For those not statistically inclined, a small sample size removes any ability to say findings are significant. His work has been retracted on numerous occasions. He's not fit to run anything.

For those of you who never heard of this guy, some of his most recent work summarizes what kind of shit stain researcher he is and the kind of integrity he brings to this wasteful effort

Here's the punchline to that map:

Great info. Now Democratic analysts should study the economic impact of Trump policies and capitalize on disaffected voters. Mostly in the Midwest and South.

From WaPo:

The S&P just shed 2.5% of its value from Friday. More than 7.5% off from less than a month ago and erasing all gain from last September.

You know, back when there was no trade war.

Thousands made it out to the #StandUpForScience in DC. That crowd keeps going back and up the Lincoln Memorial stairs.

Ipsos results show the administration is only winning approval from handling of immigration, which the partisans still control the narrative on. That isn't to say their immigration policies are all that popular. They use fentanyl and migrants as scapegoats for all issues.
March 5, 2025 at 2:34 PM
There it is. The same day as the joint session, the administration is underwater on the 538 average, which includes many partisan polls. The Reuters/Ipsos poll looks to be the straw that broke the orange camel's back.

New York and NJ have a few districts that are just barely held by Republicans. Seeing this in the 11th is amazing!

Just fucking enraging.

@RepAndyHarrisMD is such a little bitch for Trump and his cronies. He supports Russia and cowardly will not meet his constituents. I have a lot to say to his face!

Yeah, that's an interesting point. I haven't really validated my model using polling records, but I invite the comparison. My model is materially different, in that it is focused on a number of demographic and Census characteristics, not polls or voting behavior. I found PVI to be similar.

Identifying vulnerable Republican districts is not difficult. Finding leaders to call out Republican cowardice and hypocrisy is.
February 25, 2025 at 3:28 PM
Immigration is not the issue Republicans make it out to be. As a percentage of overall population, we're experiencing immigration at roughly the same rate as in the early 20th century. What is different is the skin color of those looking for safety and to be left alone.

Keep in mind though, there are obvious abuses that concentrate power away from Democratic held areas. Texas is notoriously gerrymandered, resulting in diminished power in Democratically held cities around Houston and Dallas
February 21, 2025 at 10:30 PM
When viewing district level power, we see several places where power is concentrated (dark) and should be merged to reduce districts, but also regions that are light and should be split. Zoomed out, it appears many of the darker shaded regions are in the South, Midwest and West.

Again, this report seems relevant. Maine is very rural and that, in today's US, means it is very dependent on federal grants and benefits.

Counter point to Republicans, if you want to find waste, fraud, abuse, let's look at the fact that 63% of income per capita in Owsley county KY is public funding. This is where that money is goes. TO YOUR CONSTITUENTS!

$128 billion in grants goes to Andy Harris's district every year.
