Don't misunderstand me. I have no problem with my taxes funding pub Ed. I do have a problem with a system that seems more interested in spending money on ostrich plumes for their caps than addressing the actual needs of our children and their educations.

we get 1000s of Chromebooks instead of textbooks (textbooks last longer); the district spent money on a wellness center for District staff; sending people to needless conferences.
Our district and our board really need to reevaluate their priorities - they sure as Sam aren't the children.

As long as we allow companies to be listed on stock exchanges and operated as for-profit entities we will NEVER have single payer healthcare. Too many people will lose too much money. Hell, many pensions have large stakes in them.
