Friedrich is lonely, he knows this. Its partially why he invited gehardt to live with him. Being so focused on politics for the majority of his life he never grew a sense of self outside of his fathers absence.

Through his relentless activism, he eventually made his way into government, always continuing to vote for reforms on how lgbt people were treated under german law.

He questioned himself at night, was he doing enough? Did his fathers even want him to do this? But still, he continued.
Until, on his eighteenth birthday, he asked to look up the records for his fathers directly.
They were erased, and his fathers were dead.

The closer Friedrich got to political fame, the clearer it became to him, his fathers were either imprisoned or dead. It broke something inside him everyday he didn’t receive their call.

That’s how Gehardt found him again, seeing him on the television in his kitchen, advocating for reform on queer rights against the German government. He didn’t know much, but he knew enough now. Enough to know why the boy in the woods was alone.
June 12, 2025 at 10:24 PM
He needed to know, were they still out there? Were they alive? Somehow? He needed to find a way to get the attention of the public enmasse, so, he started protesting. He started writing, he started appearing on televisions

One day Gehardt came with news from his family, the war was over and the western powers had won.

But the war wasn’t over, not for Friedrich not for the boy who had his heart, his home stripped from him just for the way his fathers loved
June 12, 2025 at 10:24 PM
That boy, was Gehardt. And when the war was over, they promised eachother to meet again, as brothers.

They were in a circumstance like his, but they still had family. It stinged like hell, but he couldn’t articulate it.

Still, the boy met with him daily, offering any leftover food (and some extra if he could pocket it) placing it anywhere he could.

But, when the boy offered help. He followed him, taking his spear with him for safety but immensely tense nonetheless.

The boy took him to his family, which offered him community. But when someone tried to touch him he pulled away immediately. Running off again back to his shelter.

His first encounter with another person was a boy, shorter than him by just a few inches if that. He found the boy staring at him from behind a tree, it startled him enough for him to pull out his wooden sharp spear he crafted from tirelessly scraping the tops sides

He learned survival instincts early, gathering wood for shelter and fires while gathering berries his father used to give him as a gift.
It took many trials and errors, but he eventually built something manageable, it wasn’t perfect. But it was enough.
June 12, 2025 at 10:24 PM
He had a decision to make, run into the woods behind his house. Or walk back into society. Orphaned again. But then he remembered his friend, what if he saw him and ratted him out too?
With tears rolling streams from his eyes, he ran into the woods.

He saw through the floorboard, it was his friends dad. But, he was wearing a red armband. When they left, he laid there for hours. Shaking. Until, eventually, he pushed it open and walked outside
June 12, 2025 at 10:24 PM
The only thing Friedrich could hear was screams in angry German. Which scared him, but he could not speak. He would not speak. Tears leaked from his eyes

When the Nazis started persecuting gay men, they followed his fathers home. The men anticipated this and had a secret floorboard for the boy, pressing a finger to his lips, the dads closed the lid and left.

He tried to follow their rules, but one day, when he 6 years old, he was talking with a person he considered his friend. He accidentally spoke about his “two dads” which caused distance between them. He didnt know why.
June 12, 2025 at 10:24 PM
The two men took care of this boy for as long as they could, better off than his previous parents, he had a good life. But he was always warned by his fathers to not speak of their relationship beyond the walls, which confused him.
June 12, 2025 at 10:24 PM
It took a year before he was adopted by a man claiming to be a single father, by this point, he was able to speak and walk. The man left with him. Only to find later when he got home that he was with another man.

Born into the eisch family, his parents were very low class, often leaving their children neglected in order to keep surviving.
The parents realized early that Friedrich could not stay, so in 1935, at 2 years old he was orphaned.
