Transgender people on average have significantly worse mental health than cisgender people and attempt suicide nine times as often. These rates shrink greatly with familial support as well as Gender Affirming care, which shows us it is crucial that medicare and insurance cover these needs. #PADP4200

Alcohol consumption has several negative health effects, as well as negative economical impacts. In working populations, heavy drinkers work 1-2 hours less per week compared to their moderate drinking counterparts. Interestingly, moderate drinkers do earn better wages than those who abstain.

Despite long term evidence, many Americans are skeptical of vaccines efficacy and concerned with potential side effects. Parts of the country that allow more lenient exemptions to vaccines have greater rates of diseases that were essentially erradicated before, such as polio. #padp4200

The opioid crisis appears to be intertwined with both the housing and mental health crisis happening in America. Low income individuals are at higher risk of both eviction and drug abuse, and both can lead into each other quickly.

Over perscription of opioids in the United States has led to vast overuse which in turn has caused mass addiction and death. To combat this, states have introduced drug use monitoring programs, reducing perscriptions, and syringe exchange programs which succesfully have slowed deaths. #PADP4200

Regarding legality of Marijuana in various states and D.C, there are several questions on weather the potential medicinal benefits outweigh increased use among people who wouldn't have used it recreationally before.
