Scores a 5. Everyone in the top two rows except Chen had a summer in Hyannis. Chen (Expos/O's/Royals) and Newcombe (Dodgers/Reds/CLE) both have .300 seasons for 3 different teams!

@stevengoldman.bsky.social Have you ever done anything on this game? Koufax and Newcombe were the pitchers of record but neither started (front end of a doubleheader). Newcombe (.268 lifetime with 15 career HRs) walked in his only career PA at cleanup. www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CIN/CI...

A family affair. Left column is baseball brothers, right two columns are baseball patriarchs (with a kid or grandkid in the majors). The categories connect with actual adjacent brothers

All Hall of Famers, but all of them are wearing a different team cap on their HOF plaques than the team(s) for which they are selected in this grid

All Hyannis (CCBL), sort of. Six of them actually played for the team, including '96 teammates Fogg and Gload. Arrieta was signed but never reported (played for USA instead). Dane Dunning and Carlos Pena both had brothers who played for Hyannis (Jake in 2009 and Omar in 2002, respectively).

All managers. 6 WS winners, one MOY (Gibson) and one who probably should have won MOY (97 wins with the '06 Mets for Randolph). Honus Wagner only managed 5 games but he was Honus Wagner, so find me a better one

All rows have 3 players who shared the same outfield at the same time: 1914 Tigers, 1989 A's, 2007 Red Sox (switched Manny and J.D.'s actual positions for a lower score)

Score of 6. Buchanan and Benson were teammates on the 1994 Hyannis Mets. Harris and Flaherty also played in Hyannis but in different years. Luke Farrell didn't play in Hyannis but his dad did (John Farrell/'82).

Today's theme: All of these players had a 27-up, 27-down performance through nine innings
