I am a creative director in the video game industry. Something I've told my design teams for years is "it's not what you say that matters, it's what they hear"

It's not about what you said. It's about what was heard (and of course understood, and retained, and actioned...)

I agree. I think people are mentally inserting the word "just" - as in he is *just* a trained performer.

Perennial social media problem (reacting to what you heard, as opposed to what was actually said)

My attempt at a definition:

Clout farming - the unseemly accumulation of hard power (e.g., follower count)

Aura farming - the unseemly accumulation of soft power (i.e., harder to quantify "vibes" or rep - but still of value)

Also that math doesn't really pencil out. If you assume a 300W panel, you need ~3.3 million panels to generate a GW.

Assume 50% efficiency and that's ~6.6M.

How are we getting to 12.5M?

And what does "continually produce" mean in this context? Solar panels can never be "continuous"

Yeah after I asked that I saw "EV" in the headline 😅

What is the main source of batteries? Is it consumer electronics (like phones and laptops), EVs, something else? Curious to know what the batteries were originally in (mostly)

I love Lodger. A deeply strange album that stretched my ears when I first heard it as a teen. I found Adrian Belew's guitar work fascinating.

I've always really liked the guitar part at ~0:33 in "Red Sails" - including the "can't unhear" mistake in the second repeat 😂

Oh man. Where to start. OK - Kendrick Lamar (famous rapper) humiliated Drake (another famous rapper) in a rap battle earlier this year. Some of Kendrick's beats were made by a DJ called "Mustard". Kendrick made victory lap album ("GNX") and in one of the songs he shouts "MUSTAAAAARD!" it's fun
