There was a trivia game called MindMaze that was included with Encarta where a terrifying ghost lady follows you through the maze (represented by a red dot on the map that gets closer and closer.)

Yeah Control was fantastic! Incidentally Control and Talos Principle 2 are probably the two games I've spent the most time on in photo mode.

The last time I really noticed architecture in a game was The Talos Principle 2, a game which asks "what if puzzle rooms were also Brutalist architectural concept designs?" and nails the execution. It's also just a very pretty game in general.

I’m right on the cutoff for cassettes as a mid-millennial. I listened to them but I wasn’t old enough to know how to record on one.

And my Walkman was a “CD walkman” which I loved except for the odd time when it would suddenly jumpscare you with a loud garbled mess
