Writing conferences are designed to be in locations with fantastic tourist opportunities. Remember, you spent a ton of money to go and learn and network. If you want to be a tourist, do that BEFORE or AFTER the conference. If you want to work on writing your story, do that AFTER hours!

For those of you who use Query Manager, don't just click on genres just to get your book in front of an agent. Make sure it is as close as you can to your real genre. I rejected a ton of people today who told me one thing but in their query, they told me it was something completely different #pubtip

I just finished up a round of submissions and I always have to laugh when people say they submit to me because of my love of [insert things I do not like] . Let me just say that even if the story might be good, this is a sign that the author does not do their research and is a huge red flag. #pubtip
