Done it a few times and recommend it when work is horrid. Sometimes had much less than 3 months savings and others more. Either way, never regretted it.

Very similar experience on the uphill. Downhill I found the line choice not as important but now I am riding hardtail a bit more and re-adjusting to finding the right lines. I really enjoy the full sus on landing though, tend to get more air due to more confidence on landing

Very nice, looks like the perfect size bottle with a nice snug fit. Moving to full sus do you notice the difference more on the uphill or downhill?

Most bikes will cover that distance easily. If transporting heavier things will want something like a cargo bike but generally if just using a backpack you can go with your preference of style. Cruiser, road bike, even a hard tail mountain bike. Don't forget to a good lock.
