Today I went to Downtown Catholic Church (St. Patrick) for Latin mass. Did you know this is the year of Jubilee? Every 50 years, Christians are supposed to free their slaves, forgive debt and let their fields rest. This only actually happened like 2 or 3 times because the rich didn’t like that idea

Today I was threatened by a man. He opened by saying “Allah Akbar.” It’s a common phrase but one many people view negatively. Then he started cussing and swearing about Islam. I was like, “Bruh, let’s focus on getting you some free food.”

This polar vortex is hanging out. When I got 2 the emergency shelter, there were people loitering & yelling. I got back in my car & went to Dunkin Donuts. I only had $100 in my account & I spent $70 ish on coffee. Taking it back to the church, I began distributing. Instantly, the crowd calmed down.

I’m a member of the Community Emergency Response Team in my neighborhood. Does your family have an evacuation plan? Do your kids know what to do in the event of a fire or hurricane?

This morning, the emergency code purple shelter was chaotic. Respect to the two staff members who were up all night breaking up fights and dealing with overdoses. I didn’t help a lot. Mostly listened and then took out the trash.

Walked 2 miles in the cold to attend St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. Choir was located behind us. Classical icons reminded me of Monty Python. Energy level was 5 out of 10 (1 would be Quaker meeting & 10 would be Baptist). Lovely service. Very welcoming.

This morning at fajr (dawn) I went to The Center for Spiritual Living Delaware to attend a prayer service. They lit candles for 9 or 10 different religions. When they lit the Islamic candle, the athan (call to prayer) was played. Whatever you are doing to ring in the new year, God bless.

At Theater N for a showing of “Curtains for Christmas,” a funny indie slasher film by Silver Spotlight Films. The producers were right in the audience giving commentary through out. Also they were showing Rocky Horror right after so the theater filled quickly once the movie was done.

My Christian parents gave me this for Christmas. It’s a phoenix. That mystical bird bursts into flames and arises new from the ashes. They say it reminds them of me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I wonder how many other Muslims and Jews join their coworkers and family members in Christmas festivities?

Fridays are busy! I worked a shift at the food pantry. A company donated espresso shots which I shared with my kids. A visit to Islamic Society of Delaware (ISD) was much needed and the khutbah about the love of money really resonated. Ended with a meditation guided by a wonderful friend Charito❤️❤️❤️❤️

The first time I saw one of the drones it was hovering over Archmere Academy when Biden was meeting with Modi. There is no way that it was operating without the knowledge & blessing of the federal government.

I was inducted into the Bellefonte Lions Club tonight. God bless everyone in this amazing organization. I’m excited about the opportunities I’ll have to do good in Wilmington. Plus we sang karaoke VERY badly😂😂😂

The Lenape Indian Tribe of Delaware held a wreath laying ceremony for fallen soldiers as part of #wreathsacrossamerica. I volunteered to lay 4 wreaths. I’ve never seen so many well loved graves.

I also met some members of the Redrum Motorcycle Club who support veterans.
