Animal photography has to be the hardest. At least you can immediately see on your phone rather than sending the film off for a week only to find that bits are chopped off!

Molly, a brown and black staffy lab type puppy side eyeing the camera. She is lying on brown carpet next to a large cardboard tube that she has just chewed to death - she looks like she feels guilty but I am pretty sure she is just sorry to have been caught The same gorgeous puppy is now sitting on a patterned rug, looking at the camera as she destroys a supposedly tough rope toy. She is so CUTE and little - about five months old here (back in 2015) The same dog is snuggling in the couch with a man in a black jumper and blue, white and black plaid shirt. She has big sad brown eyes ringed in black (it looks like eye liner) soft looking velvet tan ears and a slightly wrinkled forehead that makes her look a little concerned. She is leaning against the right arm of the man with her front leg wrapped over his arm.

Tan coloured short haired medium size mongrel dog lying in back with paws in the air, she looks very sweet faces and happy Same dog giving significant side-eye Same dog sitting expectantly in front of the camera holder, very upright and clearly expecting treats, the room is charming but messy! This is a dog that is almost exactly the same but tiny, it is another dog! My hand in this photo looks alarmingly huge. The little dog is sitting on another lady’s shoulder! And I am petting and taking a photo at the same time. I included this photo because the comparison is funny to me.

Molly, a brown and black mongrel type dog carries a thin stick that is literally three or four times as long as she is. She looks a bit like a tightrope walker! It is a poor quality photo that does not do justice to her great beauty but does show her stubborn determination and her great ambition. Also her great stick love.

Molly!
Lovely mixed breed short haired medium size dog, standing in the middle of the floor staring at the camera with big round brown eyes. She is Molly, a sort of staffy- lab rescue dog of the kind quite common in NZ where we are from. She’s 10 years old now, so quite white around the muzzle, otherwise she’s a light gingery brown with a big black nose and curiously dainty wee feet. Her ears are quite perked, she’s after a treat I think. She has dark rings like eyeliner around her eyes, these are just fading a bit now she’s older. She’s looking pensive and expectant at rehearsals same time. Best dog ever, I love her so much!

Molly is a beautiful old dog, tan like a typical staffy lab mixed breed but chance has been kind to her, she is a very handsome old girl. She is sitting up straight on a disreputable old couch and facing the camera with a very serious look. She is draped in a keffiyeh scarf because she supports the people of Palestine.

This is a view of Lyttelton Harbour from Charteris Bay, the sun has almost gone down so the trees close up are silhouettes as are the hills in the distance. The lights are on in the settlement across the bay. The sea is like glass, absolutely pristine reflection of a beach. Stripes of dark cloud and the last remnants of the day lighting up the colourless sky. It will be dark any minute now.
