This looks so basic but the sauce was leftover soup to which I added tomato sauce plus some already cooked leftover burger patties making a very tasty bolognese type sauce. The bread was toasted leftover burger rolls with its havarti cheese plus fresh garlic. Leftovers turned gourmet and delicious

Big old sloppy juicy burger on a ciabatta roll with onion, mushrooms & havarti cheese; mine with a sunny side up egg. It’s my favorite thing on a burger other than bacon, which I was out of. Homemade sweet and heat pickles with a big salad. That was the meal. Oh…Wine was involved.😁

Dry-rubbed, slow roasted ribs that were later slathered in BBQ sauce and caramelized. Sprinkled with shaved Parmesan. Homemade Cole slaw and a simple wine was all it took to make the meal.

Some of the largest mussels I’ve ever cooked from the great Prince Edward’s Island. They were blues; meaty and sweet. Cooked in a red sauce with grated Parmigiana and plated with spinach fettuccine and toasted garlic baguette. Thank you PEI!

Quickly seared tuna and shrimp with a sweet pepper/chili drizzle, steamed artichoke & asparagus and a baked cottage cheese casserole. (Thanks for the idea @asovij.bsky.social🩷)

Scored some oysters right off the boat. Hub was in the right place/right time. Sent him to fish docks to scope out tuna, but he got both fresh from the sea. Oysters tonight; tuna tomorrow.

Sometimes when I’m tired or cranky, I take the easy way out for dinner; pork & veggie potstickers with peas, pomegranate seeds & scallions in a lite teriyaki, & for dipping as well. Peas, pomp seeds and scallions are a weirdly wonderful combo! Salad, warm crusty bread and wine made the meal.

I’m here to attest to my never making pizza dough again when Trader Joe’s fresh dough is so damn good. The only drawback is the dough is sized for a maximum pizza of 12”, but I’ll take it! My next trip there, I will stock up on it. It freezes well.

A rather large (and rather expensive) NY strip steak…so we split it. Med rare & topped with some shrimp sautéed in brown butter; sautéed mushrooms and onions. Classic steak dinner and so satisfying.

Last night was sautéed pork loin slices pounded flat and dredged in seasoned flour. Pan sauce was Harrissa and onions in a wine deglazed pan. Served on a bed of warm spinach and garnished with shaved white cheddar. The rest you can see😁 Wine was involved.

A mouthwatering chicken pan dinner where chicken legs, potatoes, onions, then peas roasted in the pan together with herb seasoning galore. Red Swiss chard simmered in chicken stock a splash of apple cider vinegar. Sooo good.

A lovely rich pot of tomato gravy with sausage served over rice. Added the subtle but surprisingly rich taste of cinnamon and cardamom to the sauce and it was wonderful. Nice Chardonnay to wash it down😊

Funny how you so carefully and symmetrically place pepperoni slices on a fresh mozzarella pizza and they slide all over the place when baking. Still very very delicious🤪

Very elegant new placemats; graphic William Morris swans plus what I put on them. Claw crab (leftover from last night’s tacos) pasta sauce with lobster claw and veggies. So good.

Gloomy, chilly rainy day. It demanded SOUP! Veggie soup in a rich chicken stock made from 3 frozen carcasses from previous roast chicken dinners, plus a luscious burger w/a concocted spread of mayo/& other condiments, topped with cheeses, lettuce/tomato/pickles/sautéed onions😋 Food coma!

2 days ago was gloomy and rainy. We set up the Scrabble board right beside the window for a marathon game day (kids at heart.) Set out a couple of plates with good munchies; cheese, pâté, raw veggies etc. plus wine. That was dinner!

Dinner last night was crab cakes! 1 lb of jumbo lump lock blue claw meat all went into 4 quarter lb cakes with MD style seasoning and ingredients. We devoured them all! Homemade slaw was all that was necessary as a side. Heaven.

Game night! Didn’t want to cook after a day of cleaning. Hubs washed our cars and boat. Made plates of cheese, pâté, pot stickers, crudités, crackers etc and that was dinner!
Oh, and I won both times. 😁

Dinner last nite; pasta with shrimp, olive oil, lemon, butter, wine sauce w/Parmesan & veggies & an Arrabbiata (hope I spelled that right) blend of dried herbs. I mix them up & keep them in a glass canister (in photo.) The prominent ingredients are dried sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. So good!
