Like we do every Veteran's Day, the kids, puppies, and I will be spending our day on the beach and curled up in the living room, watching old family videos. Then we'll be having a big dinner before a bonfire on the beach with Roman, Chai, their kids, and Neal

I kiss him back and smile. "That sounds wonderful." I shift to straddle him. "The island does have an excursion that I'd like to do...it's a short flight to Dry Tortugas..." I lean over and pick up the flyer from the bedside table. "Pirate stories." I grin brightly.

Once I've dropped everything off, I head to the airport, stopping to pick up a hot chocolate on the way.
I board the plane and while the attendant gets my luggage stowed, I get settled in a seat and sip my hot chocolate.
