ND4 added some graininess to the photos, but brought out surface details, due to the fact it meant to reduce the amount of light, that reaches the sensor ( use for Exposure, etc. ) UV filter adds a little saturation to already existing colors, as well as reducing atmospheric haze. ( it’s a dust shield in most other cases. )

The difference between the Black Swallowtail Caterpillar and Canadian Tiger Caterpillar; one looks like a Pokémon, with an orange pronged defense mechanism ( Caterpie ). They also feed in Tree leaves. While the other is Green with black stripes, as seen above and love to stuff its face with herbs, such as parsley.

Females reach and average size of 60mm ( 2.4in ), while males average around 54mm ( 2.1in ). I’m not sure if this one was male or female, as you can tell by its size, compared to my finger; it’s still a juvenile.

The moon was my focal point. There was a light haze of the bay and the wind was blowing like hell, but I got a decent exposure. ( I really like the six star point on the moon. )

They are primarily nocturnal and can be found in trees or dens they make inside hollow logs or rocky crevices; these spiky rodents are herbivores and have a pretty baseline diet, consisting of bark, berries and plant matter.
