Thanks for sharing, and that doesn't surprise me. People might put too much stock in official outcomes (such as written agreements) which are then rules-lawyered, disregarded and/or unenforceable. I'm on the anarchism spectrum & suspect that these systems use some of the bureaucracy which I oppose.

In your study of this issue, have the researchers suggested any reasons for the supposed failure of those systems?

I'm not allied with any efforts to institutionalize large-scale restorative justice systems. Restorative justice is something which I try to live daily, mostly informally, but it can be partially formalized.

I.e. your question isn't pertinent to my interests, yet it's interesting (cont.)

fwiw I think they were talking a bit past each other there, eloquently, without reaching a deeper point. Nate rightfully noted that purchasing relationships matter too but in a distracting or dismissive way. well EVERYTHING matters, but purchases matter less than a 40+ hrs/week working relationship.

Not only are web channels gonna die; the Web itself will (must) be replaced by something else which extends or replaces the Internet protocols. It could be something more inclusive, scalably intelligent, wise and cosmolocalized, if we focus sufficiently on partnership instead of dominator systems.

In contrast, if someone seems more confused than aggressive, maybe that's worth talking about. Maybe they're more of a thinker than follower. You can probably figure out pretty quickly if they're dogmatically fixed on defending a person or cause. Good luck.
