Was supposed to be looking up new vacuum cleaners in the Black Friday sales but got a little sidetracked and bought a #Tintin boxset instead...feels like a win to me!

Go time for the #ScaryStoryChallenge for NYC Midnight (well, 3pm Saturday arvo for me). But, it's a stormy and rainy day in Sydney so perfect for staying in and making up things. And rather fitting to get "rain" as the assigned scare for my story.

Two years ago I had a short story published for the first time. Any publication or acknowledgment is meaningful, but this one was more so. Before this, my writing aspirations had sat on the shelf for years, so it was a timely reminder that it's never too late to start. #amwriting #writingcommunity

Finally finished my story for the Westwords Living Stories competition. This one has been open for over a month, and only 500 words, but it wasn't until the last couple of days that my story finally came together. Nothing like a deadline for getting it done. 😅 #amwriting #writingcommunity

Re-read Charlotte's Web for the first time in ages and, apart from blubbering uncontrollably at the end, I was reminded how nice it is to have illustrations along the way.
I wish more books did it, and not just for kids.

It's a nice change to be submitting my story for the #NotQuiteWritePrize with a clear head in the morning rather agonising over edits as midnight draws closer. The extra time was most appreciated. I'll have to thank those gremlins for their fine work.
