True, but only part of the problem. You don't have to be literate to hear misinformation on Fox & other media. Further, some of the "teachers" in those schools are feeding lies to students. Plus, the Internet has not been the democratizing force we hoped for but the source of hate & misinformation
The question of "why do people vote against their self-interest" is pretty self-explanatory when you look up the literacy rate in local schools.

We have little time left. We have few choices left. We must prepare to fight, to defend ourselves and communities. There is no longer a democracy, no longer a separation of church and state-we are now a Christian Nationalist Theocracy, no longer rely on police, law or courts. This is the fascist US.
