Got to chat with Ruby Bridges tonight at a fundraiser for one of her new projects (a camp in the outer banks). She was so nice and extremely down to earth. Talked about being called to do this work and part of that being a feeling like her life didn’t really belong to her. Heavy.

Just got back from Baylor gave two talks and met the nicest people. Such a pleasant campus and charming town with an inland surf park less than 20m away. Yes surfing in the middle of Texas! Gotta go back and try the bigger wave sets next time. Visited one of the first students I taught and his new 👶

Neuroecon in Portugal had the most lux hotel and made me want to move to the coast. Stayed a couple extra days and got some yoga and a surf skate session at an enormous Quicksilver complex in Ericeira. Have to go back for longer.

Though I’m more overcommitted than ever at home, my academic travel this year has been the best of my career so far. Gave a talk at USC slacklined campus, sunrise yoga, last meeting spontaneously ended up sunset sailing on Giorgio Coricelli’s sailboat then made pasta on the boat until airport time
