My favourite feline is back. I think I ruined her stalking a pigeon plan but made up for it with some cheese. A beautiful cat.

Watched The Surfer with Nic Cage. He almost out Cages himself in some scenes! It's like a demented, trippy, well made B-movie... but I really liked it. Actually reminded me of The Swimmer (1968) at times, with similar themes. The Surfer shouldn't work but it's strangely addictive..great score too.

I've covered Jaws 2 for this new WBD book. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the book store: OUT NOW! Animals Attack! Almost 300 pages in full colour packed with hundreds of images. Available in both softback and hardback.

13 years ago today- The first Stone Roses reunion concert, Heaton Park, Manchester. Cost a fortune but it was a great, crazy trip. A trip to Liverpool followed the next morning in comatosed state. Glad that they never made a new album too.

Se7en in b/w looks great, monochrome only enhances its aesthetic and mood. Really enjoyed watching again after so many years.

Mum took me to "The Cavern" as a kid in the 80's. As soon as I realised that it was a copy and not the original, I wasn't interested. Still not. Liverpool Council commited maybe the greatest act of cultural sabotage ever in Britain by not protecting it. Tourists seem happy with a forgery.

Never watch the Oscars but I heard that Tony Todd was ignored in the Memorium section. Unforgiveable but expected. Probably made too many horror films for them. The man was brilliant.

Watched Landlocked (2023) on Shudder. A very low budget, slow-paced, yet very effective little chiller. Apparently all created and filmed by one first time film-making family, who play versions of themselves. Nice to see Shudder releasing such truly independent horror films, hope it continues.

My short film Daniel Came Home has been nominated for The Barcelona Indie Film Awards next month, taking place at this theatre. Doubt I can afford to go but it's good news. Daniel also won Best Drama at a Canadian Black and White Films Festival this week!
