Oh no, it has well and truly begun, this replacing of humanity with automation. But how culpable are you, what have you contributed to the process? Checking your own groceries? Paying at the pump? Using cards rather than cash? Yeah.

Think. Then act.

The world is not fine. It never has been and never will be. We all just have to work together to try to do what’s best without any particular bent or philosophy than that.

Likely? Polls seem to be indicating that, but as this conversation began, I said I certainly hope that they expose pollsters as frauds. Now that we’ve 360’d, I’m out and wish you, sir, well.

The more things change, the more they stay the same, vacillating between incumbents as partisan politics lead us to do here in NAmerica. We were promised a change by the current red flag government, but it has failed to materialize because it would impact how hard they’d have to work to rule.

Suggesting, eh? So he might not do anything if elected - can you recognize that possibility/option? Don’t accept that as a chance at stagnation rather than change, progress?
April 16, 2025 at 4:36 PM
Well, campaign promises are well known to evaporate once candidates secure power. Remember, Carney’s not elected yet either and might go away as quickly as he came, taking his rhetoric with him.

And status quo governance here is not the way to proceed in my opinion. Let the neighbours sort out their mess and we’ll keep on keepin on, moving forward rather than reacting and trying to stop what are at best weak wrist shots at low hanging fruit. China isn’t even the biggest threat tbh.

His term is only 4 years. Something else will distract him from us, and vice versa, well before then. See: Covid (I think global recession and war, see Fourth Turnings)
April 16, 2025 at 4:18 PM
I believe the crisis to be beyond any issue the campaigns are addressing & will vote for the party whom I believe to be better prepared to deal with the actual issues successfully when they arise. This Trump stuff is “tempest in teapot” meant to distract the masses from reality
April 16, 2025 at 4:11 PM
And also to you.
April 16, 2025 at 3:49 PM
I’m not here to debate my choice. I’m not voting for status quo government, sorry(not sorry)
April 16, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Both leading candidates fit that description; this election is to determine whether holding the line/status quo will work for us, or if we better change to reflect the times/world we belong to. Im confident the world has changed massively over the past decade, and don’t think we r ready to face that
April 16, 2025 at 3:38 PM
I certainly hope the final result ruins pollsters for good, being more like the messy early part of that chart, because that’s how I feel the public/country is at the moment. Neither party will clearly lead us out of the mess and confusion.

This is all fine and dandy, but when will the rest of the Western Hegemony that arose under American direction post- WW2 start openly discussing how that empire is ending, having been allowed to burn whilst politicos fiddled like Nero in Ancient Rome?
