So, @occult inspired me to make my own fork of @prahou 's subversive.pics. Need to eventually self-host all the content that's currently on mata platforms. Also @neauoire encouraged me to start syndicating, so.. for now it's at least a photo feed!

I made it much of the way through "Starting Forth", in order to learn some basics about stack-based languages. After I did that, I stopped. June says I should try "Thinking Forth", so that's on my to-read pile. Anyway I never really told anyone I did this so […]

I went to see "The Testament of Ann Lee", yesterday, and omg the amazing interstitial chapter title screens. They are all white on black compositions, with calligraphic ink work mixed with gorgeous period-correct typography. The ones I'm posting here are not […]

I made a personal website! Although my official background is in visual stuff, a lot of what's on the site is writing. Semi-long-form writing, like, short essays. The first piece of writing that I'm highlighting is the one most relevant to the people with […]

@patricio Patricio, your Memory Studies are probably my favorite digital artworks that have ever been made. I find them so powerful. I won't gush here further (I would like to write about them elsewhere) but I just want to say that IMO it's so great that you are preserving the work and thinking […]

A few days ago, @june gave me the best holiday card... that has ever been made. The card is coded in C++ with very custom routines for pattern generation. She thoughtfully got it signed by several members of Nouveau and Merveilles.

My #DecemberAdventure is mostly a December Detour onto other projects that can't wait, like this website for a new album that my wife produced. First time doing a few things like setting up a staging subdomain for testing, and stuff. There were lots of content details to iron out. It ships in […]

@autumn Your new page on N24 is really a comprehensive overview. Great resource. I noticed it has some of the same info you were kind enough to give me when I was suffering from longer-than-normal jetlag. Very cool to see your 2024 sleep data - such a clear picture. Anyway I saw it because of […]

I'm jumping in!

Joining the phenomenon known as #DecemberAdventure. Working on a personal website (just put it online, but it'll evolve this month) and also plan to noodle with some other code like Nova along the way. Nbd... but feels like a bd. To be counting myself in, I mean. And to put work […]

If you're going to be in Portland, Oregon before February 8th, there is a great - and very interactive - exhibit on Ursula Le Guin, at the Oregon Center for Contemporary Art. Can't recommend this enough.

I received a very beautiful (and bubbly) piece of pottery from @mario_afk thanks to the Merveilles art exchange! It looks perfect for serving mysterious potions or elixirs. It arrived quite intact in a box shipped from Mexico. Having sent out a very flat […]

I've been operating my PC all summer without a drawing tablet. Finally added one to this setup and this post is just me telling you that I can feel the wind in my hair. I don't even use it for drawing, much, it's just such a relief to use it for almost everything.
