#strikes Continued significant strike drop for Sept 25 - only 39,000 days not worked in 42 strikes by 10,000 workers. Though higher than in August – 15,000 days not worked in 18 strikes by 4,000 workers, much lower than July (83,000 days not worked, 225 strikes, 26,000 workers).

#ScottishGreens #GreenParty #GPEW My National piece today called 'Ambitions clash with institutional reality in the Scottish Greens'. It looks at how 'Zacktivism' south of the border is setting the pace, a pace that the Scottish Greens are failing to match

Significant strike drop for Aug 25 - only 15,000 days not worked in 18 strikes by 4,000 workers. Because workers were on holiday? More likely reflects absence of no resident doctors' strikes as were in July (when 83,000 days not worked in 225 strikes by 26,000 workers).

#unions #strikes New strike stats out yesterday, showing big uptick for July 25 - 83,000 days not worked in 225 strikes involving 26,000 workers. Stats for June 25: 33,000, 51 and 6,000. Not all of the increase is accounted for by the junior/ resident doctors' strike. Also ongoing Brum strike etc

May 25 strike stats out yesterday: 37,000 days not worked in 44 strikes involving 5,000 workers. Pretty much same each month going back to August 2024.

@buiraonline.bsky.social April 25 strikes stats out today - same pattern every month since Nov 24, namely, about 47,000 days not worked in about 51 strikes by about 6,000 workers each and every month so well down on cost-of-living strike wave but still way higher than immediate pre-pandemic years

@tuc.org.uk Today is Workers Memorial Day. Every year more people are killed at work than in wars. Most don't die of mystery ailments or tragic accidents. They die because employers decided safety just wasn't that important a priority. Remember the dead: Fight for the living
