So now we're back to "It's only classless if you do it against your rival"?

This debate is tiresome. I'm sorry that I don't understand your fine gradations of which celebrations are classless enough to justify a violent response and which aren't. Rationalize whatever you want and have a nice day

There is literally a photo at the top of this thread of Texas doing the same thing to Michigan, an action which did not result in any fights!

... instead of trying to rationalize violence you could simply channel your frustration into performing better the next time we compete. My way seems easier

How about this: If I ever defeat you in an athletic competition, before engaging in any victory celebrations I will have you check your algorithm to determine, based on level of provocativeness/intensity of the rivalry, whether a violent response is justified on your part. Or ... hear me out ...

Personally I think what's classless is starting a fight because your opponent's celebration crossed some arbitrary line. Reminds me of pitchers who bean an opposing batter because his home run trot was deemed to be too slow. Don't blame others for your frustration

So you're allowed to do it if the other team is not a big rival, but if they are then that makes it wrong? Where exactly is the line for a school like Michigan? Northwestern? Rutgers? Who gets to make these determinations?
