Do you think Eddie Offord's absence is what led it being sub-par? I never noticed it being worse than the earlier records.

I would argue that for 2001, the book and film go hand in hand. Clark wrote the novel concurrently with Kubrik as he wrote the screenplay. There's very few examples of something like this in film and literature. Digesting both provides a more complete and unique experience.

I was able to get two tickets to the first night of the tour in Los Angeles. They're decent seats in the house left section. After taxes and "convenience fees," I paid $1875. I first saw Rush on the Presto. I had similar seats. I think we paid $18.75 for each seat then.
