I was talking to a guy who might know who said Chuck will be primaried next time… though he was mum on who.

As for now, I’m hard pressed to come up with a name to replace CS as leader—one w/ enough seniority, a decent-sized fundraising operation (sadly necessary) & the politics to make it worth it.

I’d say it’s all for TV, but as my complaint noted, you can’t even watch on TV. It’s all for the sportsbooks and NIL money.

I used to like college basketball better than pro—I can’t say that anymore.

I grew up with what was still the Pac-8 when I first started going to Pauley Pavilion. I don’t even recognize the half-empty arena I see on TV (and I don’t mean because of the remodel). But making students travel 3000 miles or more every week to play 2 games offends me even more.

Little Chuck always gave it away

Still the donors had to pay and pay

A hustle here and a hustle there
New York City is the place where

they said
"Hey babe, take a walk on the mild side"
I said, "Hey Chuck, take a walk on the mild side"

And the big donors go “do do do….”

BTW—I’m not sure I have ever seen an app rated as low as @bigtenplus.bsky.social

Maybe we need NIL money for your developers!

Ha! I hear you—but I actually like good D & I like winning, so I’ll take this over the Alford years any day. (Would be nice, tho, to see someone hit a 3 once in while.)

Conversely, liking good D & winning is why I don’t enjoy watching Senate Dems.

@murshedz.bsky.social, I expect you to fix this!

But but but, my Senator IS Schumer.
November 11, 2025 at 1:35 AM
His own supply?

In 2016, I said of Tim Kaine that he was they guy you floated as a possible VP, so that when you picked practically anyone else, everyone would say, “at least it wasn’t Tim Kaine.”

Today, I think even less of him.

None of the core cavers will face the voters next year. That was always part of the plan, which was reportedly ongoing from the very start of the shutdown, with the full knowledge of Chuck Schumer.

Same.
November 10, 2025 at 11:24 PM
That was more offensive and tone deaf than even I expect from Tim Kaine.
November 10, 2025 at 11:10 PM
Ooh! I don’t have that one! Thanks!

Did the Cave-In caucus get a promise from the Trump admin to drop its challenge to court orders requiring payment of November SNAP benefits or stop attempts to claw back money from states that started funding this month’s benefits? They did not. In fact, Team Trump is back fighting in court today.

And honestly, without a written guarantee signed by Trump & Russ Vought, I am skeptical all of the RIFs/firings will be reversed.

Bragging on handshake deals with people who don’t honor deals—who don’t even respect your institution—can turn out to be a damaging self-own.
November 10, 2025 at 5:10 PM
Without a written guarantee from House leadership to take up the ACA subsidies, this crap deal isn’t a real deal at all. It’s political cover for a group that mostly doesn’t need cover. Is Schumer the secret leader of the “piss on my leg” caucus?
This is the “Piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining” caucus:

Dick Durbin (IL)
Angus King (ME)
Catherine Cortez Masto (NV)
Jacky Rosen (NV)
Maggie Hassan (NH)
Jeanne Shaheen (NH)
John Fetterman (PA)
Tim Kaine (VA)

You know the old saying: being born a rich white male means never having to say you’re sorry.
November 10, 2025 at 7:01 AM
That was the thinking of Thune and GOP Senators, but in the White House, it seemed the thinking was, ditch the filibuster now, and you never have to worry about a Dem majority again.
