spacy's NER is really bad, I'm not sure it's clear how this improves it? these days a next gen LLM does the job pretty well, much better than spacy at least.

The primary finding was a concern that a large portion of web content for less common languages ends up being machine translated and that is an issue for model training. Very interesting!

yep, there is just some missing nuance from the paper, and the publishers made it a bit click baity. The paper says they used subset of commoncrawl that focuses on translation tuples.

I'm trying to see where you come to that juicy claim. In the paper, it seems to be in the context that these are original but translated into multiple languages via AI.
