A big television program is being filmed here tonight at 8 p.m. These 2 semi-pro sports entities will sell a bunch of truck commercials and make millions for their corporate partners. Football fans can also come watch if they wait around all day, pay $$$ and don’t mind getting home at 1 a.m.!

Time to see if the Galaxy can end their MLS-record 15-match winless skid to start the season as they take on Bruce Arena’s Quakes.

Not a lot of folks came out to watch the Angels and the Blue Jays tonight. The Canadian weather in Anaheim doesn’t help.

Entertaining first half in the USWNT and Brazil friendly at SoFi. Studio City’s Alyssa Thompson set up Newport Beach’s Trinity Rodman for the only goal.

LeBron James just scored his 50,000th point in the regular season & playoffs combined. For perspective, Kareem is second with 44,149 career points. And LeBron isn’t even slowing down at 40 in his 22nd season.

San Diego FC plays its inaugural home opener tonight in front of what’s going to be the biggest crowd in Snapdragon Stadium history. This town is hungry for more pro sports, so this is a great time for MLS to enter the market.

Freeway Faceoff CLXVI is underway. I was worried about how to kill the 2 hours between games, but then Mark Williams failed the Lakers’ physical and all that down time evaporated!

Just watched Rui Hachimura teach Roki Sasaki how to make the LA hand symbol before tonight’s Lakers game. That was awesome.

RIP and thank you to David Lynch, an artist and an original. You made my mind work better.

There aren’t many active NBA players left who could watch Michael Jordan in his 1990s Chicago Bulls prime. LeBron James was a witness, and that’s why it means so much to him when he breaks one of Jordan’s records, as he did tonight with his 563rd 30-point game.

As we get ready for the 95th Notre Dame-USC game, a reminder that Knute Rockne has a tribute plaque on the Coliseum Peristyle because this rivalry was unique and cool long before all of us were born & it’d be really lame and short-sighted to sever this venerable connection to our history.

Black Friday hockey in Anaheim for the 20th consecutive year. It’s also Freeway Faceoff CLXV.

Pregame moment of silence for John Robinson, who died Monday at 89

I’m usually baffled by fans fetishizing the uniforms of their youth because there’s so much basic/objectively ugly gear that gets treated like some aesthetic pinnacle through sentimentality.

Having said that, these subtle Trojans throwbacks absolutely pop & I love them even though I didn’t go to SC

USC and Nebraska kick off in 90 minutes. It’s an absolutely beautiful Saturday to watch 2 underachieving teams from historic college football schools desperately fight to secure eligibility for a minor bowl game. Also the Coli’s throwback end zones are cool.
