FINALLY. For anime nerds of a certain generation, our first exposure (or at least an early one) to the medium was the syndicated cartoon series Robotech. Macross was its launching point for a multi-generational narrative that adapted and rewrote three unrelated shows with a similar visual style.

On the book stand: the new volume of Empowered by @adamwarren.bsky.social - long awaited! I’ve been reading this series since it began some odd fifteen years ago. It’s one of the most fun #comics out there, but for a very *specific* audience.

Turned off reposts just now and that instantly improved my experience here. I'm way more interested in seeing folks' original thoughts. Some users blithely repost wayyyyy too frequently. Now I don't have to mute people who do that. Cool.

Cobra Kai: Season 6, Part 2
I did the thing. The cheese spread called to me, and again I arrived , mouth agape, to feast upon the empty calories. I don’t know if it’s sunk-cost fallacy or the impulse to keep looking at the train derailment, but I’ll see this silly show through to the end.

Dan Da Dan episode 7 just about broke me. I haven’t read the #manga source material but this #anime version is consistently GREAT.
Makes me look forward both to the next episode and Science SARU’s upcoming Ghost in the Shell TV series in ‘26. They’re killing it.

Makes me look forward both to the next episode and Science SARU’s upcoming Ghost in the Shell TV series in ‘26. They’re killing it.

Dan Da Dan - For me, the best new #anime in the last few years. Wild and crazy with tons of heart & humor.
Arcane, season 2 - Stunningly animated steampunk fantasy with deep character work & sometimes too real political strife.

A few neat features: the US exclusive dub for Episode 4 created due to lost materials from the Japanese production company, and song lyrics are subtitled for the first time. (I think. I can’t remember if the Manga Entertainment DVDs had them.)

Recent addition to my small bespoke anime box set collection: Macross Plus from All The Anime, via the Crunchyroll Store. I was lucky, apparently. A lot of people received theirs with cosmetic damage.

I’m a lifelong #Zelda player that somehow had never gotten around to Link’s Awakening until the Switch remake. And then I slept on it for years (heh) before finally getting it this summer and finishing it a week or two ago. Very fun and poignant even though the story was spoiled decades ago.
