Everyone's gonna think I'm a huge front-runner when I walk around (Rhode Island) in my IU quarter-zip, but my sister bought it for my birthday two years ago. She works at their hospital.

John Lewis and Jimmy Carter for Georgia, too. And George H. White for the other Carolina.

Is there any story you won't make about how much you hate progressives?

The comically named Senate candidate Dick Tuck.
January 7, 2026 at 4:13 PM
"The people have spoken, the bastards" is still the best line from any concession speech.
January 6, 2026 at 9:39 PM
And the moderates, who you seem to represent, were the loudest calling for him to drop out.
January 6, 2026 at 11:37 AM
They vocally stuck with him until the end, actually.
January 6, 2026 at 11:36 AM
No it wasn't.
January 5, 2026 at 2:47 PM
LOL it wasn't progressives who pushed him out, dude.

Presidency, House, and Senate.

It's always important to speak truthfully, though. This IS an impeachable offense, so every Democrat should say so. The GOP didn't roll over when Obama had a trifecta, after all.

I think a lot of people would argue that the kidnapping is the problem, not the neglect of protocol.
January 3, 2026 at 8:39 PM
At a minimum, he should not release such a weak-ass statement in response to a flagrant crime.
January 3, 2026 at 8:35 PM
Genuine question: is there anything you think Dems *should* do here?
January 3, 2026 at 4:51 PM
Alright, tapping out because while I believe you are spectacularly wrong here, I like you too much to keep pressing. Happy New Year.
January 2, 2026 at 11:05 PM
LOL what introductions? You seem to think they were secretly working together all along. Also, no other NYC Democrat was facing 2 general election opponents, so "Mamdani underperformed" is absurd.
January 2, 2026 at 10:55 PM
I'm sorry, but Mamdani didn't need Jeffries for that. He started reaching out to Black voters immediately after the primary, and there's no evidence that Jeffries played any role in facilitating that.
January 2, 2026 at 5:57 PM
I suspect that we'll always disagree on Jeffries's grudging and belated endorsement, but since you mentioned Schumer I'll throw in Jay Jacobs, the state party chair; Greg Meeks, Queens party chair and longtime Congressman; Tom Suozzi; and like I said, a certain class of pundits and hangers-on.
January 2, 2026 at 3:13 PM
No, let us keep coming with theories, please.
January 2, 2026 at 1:38 PM
I think there's a certain stratum of people within the Democratic coalition who, because of seniority and/or holding elevated positions, get lumped together as "the Democrats" pejoratively in some people's minds. Reich's statement holds up better if viewed through this lens, IMO.
January 2, 2026 at 1:26 PM
I can't prove it but am 100% certain that Mamdani closely studied Lula da Silva in Brazil, especially his bookend (2002 and 2022) campaigns and first presidency. This would bode well for him.
January 2, 2026 at 1:21 PM
"You're a good kid" from someone the same age as me. Does that count?
