Yesterday evening I was elected Deputy Mayor by Erewash Borough Council for the Civic Year 2025-2026. It is truly a great honour and I look forward to serving my Parish and all of Erewash in my new capacity. Thank you all for your kind support.

Well, it’s a bread baking day with the overcast sky outside setting the tone. So far, so good. Another malted wheat loaf. I use the “cold oven” baking technique and it works every time for a great loaf. About 30 min later and beautiful! Now let cool, slice and enjoy.

One thing I love to do is smoke protein. Made an Over The Top Chilli on the BGE. Here are the stages from beginning to end of smoking. Smoked in oak. Mmmmm
