Firstly, true communists reject religion so Mamdani cannot be both.
Secondly, Mamdani is a democratic socialist. That's not precisely the same as communist. Communism isn't democratic.

MPs must hold regular clinics - at least twice a month.
They must not have ANY secondary income.
