wearing glasses with copious amounts of smudges on the lens is a major contributor to having depression and there’s nothing you can say that will convince me otherwise 👓

Today I learned about a pretty dang cool feature thanks to the design.dev newsletter; performance.mark()! This is such a better alternative to the aged console.time() metric I'm sure many of us have used to determine benchmarks within our applications. Check out my Performance deep dive on @dev.to!
Say Goodbye to console.time() and Hello to performance.mark()!
As JavaScript developers, our primary goals can typically be summed up within three very broad...

Just finished a new post on @dev.to about creating unique IDs when said IDs are hard to come by whilst iterating over data. It uses the built-in `crypto.randomUUID()` method that's supported in all major browsers! Give it a quick read if that's ever been a pain point for you

I'm a @firefox.com stan through and through, but it's really testing me when the exact same code produces something totally on different on Google (left) vs Firefox (right); this sucks on the dev experience side of things for making a simple image carousel, wondering what you got wrong

if you've ever wanted a terminal alias to prettify git history, here's your chance:

git log --pretty=format:"%C(yellow)%h%Creset - %C(green)%an%Creset, %ar : %s"

i chose 'glp' for my alias; the colors are customizable.
in use, it'd be like:

glp -G "add" would show global instances of adds

My crowning achievement in the tech-blogosphere is this post on the new-ish CSS color format, OKLCH.

It’s within the top 10 search items when googling “oklch” and I couldn’t be more astounded/flabbergasted. Give it a read if you’re OKLCH-curious and enjoy humorous technical writing!
