Green Party Member of the House of Lords. Environment, civil liberties, the ocean, and almost anything that interests me ...

Ouf.
Just spent 75 mins in the dentist's chair for an infected back tooth.
Excellent care, plus I could see what he was doing on a TV screen, which was fascinating and distracting from the discomfort.
Had to sit down with a coffee afterwards. And drink it thru a straw.

Really lovely yesterday to meet up with @premnsikka and @Feargal_Sharkey to discuss the crisis with our Water Companies and how to solve it.
#Sewage!

I'll be voting for @elliechowns.bsky.social and @adrianramsay.bsky.social for our Leaders because they have a winning formula. Talk to people, encourage them to vote for us, and then deliver.
No posturing, no babble, no false promises, just action.

Boast of the Day:
Porridge breakfast with homegrown gooseberries, blackcurrants and raspberries.

Am sitting in the Chamber in the first debate on the Border Security Bill, with a lot of speakers to go.
Likely to be 1030pm finish. 🥱
In this Bill, Labour has taken out some very bad law, but leaving some just-as-bad measures.
So I've called up a soothing photo ...

From the Times yesterday. Made me smile.
Not as unkind as it could be.

A lovely event campaigning to legislate for new builds to have swift bricks with @hannahbournetaylor.bsky.social and Zak Goldsmith.
Hannah is holding a swift brick while Zak is holding her book.
I'm holding a commitment to get this sensible cost-free policy into the Planning & Infrastructure Bill.

A photo taken at the Quaker event at New Scotland Yard by my friend Rupert Read who was sitting down on the pavement in a silent peaceful protest against Met Police violence.

A brief but fascinating visit to Huntingdon.
Lovely Greens, aiming for seats on the County Council in May.
The meeting held in the Oliver Cromwell Museum.

Y'day eve we heard from this superb panel about the important Oceana court action against the Labour Govt for continuing to allow 31 oil and gas licences to go ahead.
Absolute folly to support continuing use of dangerous fuels, plus badly disturbing and polluting our precious ocean.

I dropped in briefly this week to wish everyone well for Newroz, Kurdish New Year.
It was very good to see Ibrahim Dogus, Founder of the Centre for Kurdish Progress, after so many years.
(With lots of Bills happening, it's hard to find time for the fun things!)

Left the Canadian Embassy after meeting several charming diplomats and some friendly Labour MPs.
The pancakes were good!

I can't resist a demo, especially in such a good cause.
Here Unite is campaigning for decent pay for the Rapid Response Team who decontaminate hospital areas to prevent the spread of dangerous diseases.
Their work is hard, their pay is low, and their facilities are poorly maintained.

This has made my weekend! My week, month!
A red squirrel.
I can't remember how long it is since I last saw one.

The railway bridge across to Ynys Mon, built by Robert Stephenson, opened in 1850.
It's been modernised since with a road on top.

With #MothersRiseUp who are protesting against the dirty air produced by burning fossil fuels.
Obviously, I completely support their aims!
