Easiest way to start to get off gas is to improve the efficiency of your home. Adding insulation, sealing air links, and adding interior storm windows, are the three top things I usually end up recommending. Details matter however, so consider getting an energy audit from independent energy auditor.

... and thanks for the correction on this cool fish.

Sadly, you are wrong about that. It isn't easier, because any instantiation of the picture probably comes with a name on it. Knowing whether that is correct is very difficult and probably requires your level of knowledge.

I just picked up a copy of Black's at the used book store for like $4, so I would use that.

So NOT bedrooms.

5.2% of what exactly?
December 9, 2025 at 3:58 PM
Why is people being able to move more important to you than people actually having a home. Certainly anyone needing to move but unable to, the worst that happens is that they become homeless, and that is already happening.

You're assuming that, I'm not. I am waiting to see what the numbers are.

Always remember you are allowed to lie to machines.
December 9, 2025 at 3:11 PM
How do you not understand that meaning only comes after you know the number? Different numbers mean different things; or rather different numbers lead one down different paths to multiple meanings.
I am fine with realtors definition of bedrooms.

Unlike some people I am not actually ready to say what something means until I know the actual numbers involved. Hence, why I asked. But if we are ever going to FIX the problem, we have to start by understanding the problem, which usually means some counting. Sorry that that offends you.
December 8, 2025 at 8:36 PM
It does mean something, you just aren't willing to contemplate what it means.
December 8, 2025 at 8:17 PM
I have explained what it means.
December 7, 2025 at 2:41 AM
What is the ratio of bedrooms to people who need one?
December 6, 2025 at 8:49 PM
You might think so, but empirical evidence says otherwise. People have been trying to make LA affordable and accessible for DECADES. To no avail. When was the last time anyone TRIED to make a viable city from scratch in the US?
December 6, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Of course it can. Know how I know? Because Des Moines only has 900k people. If Des Moines had everything people wanted, there wouldn't be a housing crisis. Someone further down claims that there are 250,000 people in LA needing housing.
December 6, 2025 at 8:31 PM
Easy to compete if you have CHEAP and AVAILABLE housing. What is REALLY missing is a bit of careful planning. That is why China can do it and the US can't.
December 6, 2025 at 7:36 PM
How about bedrooms : persons?
December 6, 2025 at 6:53 PM
Why do you think that a new city can't have those things?

Counter example: Shenzhen.
December 6, 2025 at 6:04 PM
Got numbers?
December 6, 2025 at 5:46 PM
Really? That is higher than people buying "investment properties" and using them as AirBnB, rentals, or second homes? (honest question). YOU might be able to learn how much housing there IS in this country.
December 6, 2025 at 4:32 PM
@Karen C
It can.
December 6, 2025 at 3:45 AM
For pete's sake people its 2025. Get a electric pump that plugs into your car, and check the tire pressure once a month.
