The oppostion is often due to misinformation spread by interest groups. GMO crops have been tested and regulated more than conventional or organic crops. If cost is the reason to import fodder, one wonders why cost effective, non gmo fodder is not developed in the EU...

EU imports huge amounts of fodder from the US, otherwise their livestock industry would collpase, so they are ok with GMO fodder. And there are no "unapproved GMO crops" in the US, all go through a robust regulatory system before commercial application.
