I think it's so important to remember how young 22 is in this confusing world. At 22 it is so easy to fall into the machine and never be able to get back out of it again.

Ah, that clears it up. I think the best explanation is that people don't so much care about the guy, but the symbol. For a lot of people it was like destroying a church, I think.

In some ways, it is, though. One of the core tenants of leftyism is individual expression. The "this is who I am and I am proud of it" movement.

I don't think that really explains the anti-facist messaging on the gun cartridges, right? And can we blame a 17 year old for falling into one of the most powerful internet traps of our generation? I was an absolute dumbass when I was 17.
Maybe we need a little wishful thinking right now.

I think I didn't land my point with you very well.
When I was 20, I left my classically liberal household where I was taught to hate anything conservative. I was so full of hate from my upbringing.
When I learned that the world was more complicated than I'd even been taught, I was so confused.

He's not "one of them," he's "one of us." An American. He is barely an adult and he has been raised in an extremely broken, divided culture. We need to be better than this. We all need to take responsibility.

He's not "one of them," he's "one of us." An American. He is barely an adult and he has been raised in an extremely broken, divided culture. We need to be better than this. We all need to take responsibility.

It is much more likely that he was so deeply conflicted between the way he was raised and the hate he for for that way of life that it snapped him. Anyone could turn into this with enough division.

All this post does is continue to sew division between us. He was a complicated kid who had complicated opinions. Putting people into these boxes of hate IS THE PROBLEM. Have some compassion.

God knows that I have felt the same thing he did. I am so lucky I had people around me that showed me that the internet and CNN and Fox News and r/politics and r/conservative is not real. We are so much closer than we think.

This event can UNITE us. Tyler Robinson was just a kid who through his whole life away because he couldn't get away from the shouting in both ears. Give your conservative neighbor a hug for ONE GOD DAMN SECOND, because we are all on the same team here.

I agree. I wonder if there is some sort of convergence happening here. Both bots and the people in the Twitter replies are looking for engagement from real people.
It just might be that the most efficient way to do that is to "that's so true" the original post.
