Max Rome is OGI’s new Director of Green Infrastructure. Max lives in Allston and brings experience advancing nature based designs from his time with the Charles River Watershed Association, and from his research into the restoration of the Charles River during his Ph.D at Northeastern University.

Ronak Sathyanarayana is OGI’s new Special Projects Manager. He joins OGI from Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation. As their Environmental Justice Specialist, he worked on green workforce development, climate justice advocacy, and community organizing in Dorchester and Mattapan.

Site Spotlight #11: The Edgewater Drive Rain Garden! The swath of red, stamped brick that used to occupy the corner of this intersection has been replaced with a rain garden. This garden will treat stormwater from the intersection and lessen heat when temperatures rise!

We retrofit a median along Blue Hill Avenue, between Castlegate Road and Washington Street, allowing it to host new bioswales! The bioswales, planted with native shrubs, grasses, and perennials, filter and infiltrate stormwater from the abutting streets to prevent flooding and pollution.
