Good idea, things take time - especially when you have a federal funding crisis, strikes, and SEPTA knocking on your door.

Who does Joe think he is in the movie idiocracy?

It’s funny to me that a lot of what people think as the millennial aesthetic was just being poor.

I entered the job market in 2008 - compared to that we are fine. There will always be shitty times to enter the job market and most of us can’t choose when we need our next job. Back then a lot of us lived in flop houses and made preserving food, thrifting, and riding bikes around the city “cool.”

I lived in Seattle for a long time and saw some awful things. One time a man clearly on drugs, and undergoing a mental break, stole a birthday cake from a girl celebrating in volunteer park and told her to go “fuck herself.” I am not okay with that.

This is true if and only if the drug addicts and mentally ill are put into treatment first. Most homeless people are just trying to get by, but some are completely out of their minds and can be dangerous.

It’s terrible optics but maybe a good long term strategy? If republicans are dumb enough to double health and insurance premiums for 10s of millions of people right before the midterms - I guess let them. That being said, Schumer still needs to go.

Strange that the amount matches the cost of the ballroom.

We don’t have competitive manufacturing of very many goods outside of petrochemicals. If our tech sector gets knee capped we lose our biggest engine of growth. Interest rates will increase because our ability to pay back debt will come into question. It’s a bad scenario.

It takes decades to spin up a rare earth mine and processing plant. There is no short term solution. This has been decades in the making on China’s part.

If China can interrupt the flow of Nvidia chips from Taiwan, the US economy will come crumbling down. We’re in a precarious situation. Xi is playing chess and Trump is looking at himself in the mirror as he distractedly plays checkers.

Guys, China just cut off the export of metals the US needs to make its weapons. China has been slowly throttling the exports of these metals and US stock are likely already low. For example the US has almost no access to antimony which is needed for munitions. They are about to make a move on Taiwan

I disagree with you. Let me rephrase the question. “60% of this town prefers burgers and the other pizza, do you really think you can succeed as a business selling burgers?” Well, yeah. “But don’t you need pizza to succeed.” Why? “Ohh so you think people who like pizza are worthless!”

I agree, Katie should have done better, but that journalist should also be fired. The journalist is worse than Katie here.

However, the original question was idiotic.
October 9, 2025 at 11:55 AM
That why it was a the dumb gotcha. She asked do you think you can win in a state where 60% vote democrat?” Katie Porter right fully said, “well yeah, of course.” Then the interview used that answer to make Katie look arrogant as if she didn’t need to talk to republicans.
October 9, 2025 at 11:55 AM
So, that has nothing to do with the question she asked. Clearly it’s easier to win as a democrat in California. Also, clearly, if 40% is a republican then the top 2 contenders will almost always be a democrat and a republican, which it has been. It’s a dumb question.
October 9, 2025 at 11:41 AM
I mean the question was really stupid. “Do you think you can win when 60% of the state votes democratic?” Like, no shit. “Well what do you say to those 40% of republican voters - you need them?” The reporter sounds like she doesn’t understand how percentages work.

The ultimate use case for AI is to fabricate data so that fragile egos don’t have to confront reality.

Shameless. This whole era is just a bunch of plutocrats shamelessly defrauding poor and aspirational right leaning people out of their money while the left keeps repeating - these people are con artists to stubborn and delusional audience.
