Breathe with your cat in rhythm with your cat's purr.
Accept your cat's independence: When your cat gets up to leave, let them go.

The window of tolerance is such an important concept in recovery ❤️‍🩹 from stressors. Therapy provides a safe space for people to learn to expand their window of tolerance. My goal is for people to become their own therapist and regulate their bodies and minds. Its inspiring to to see the window open

3 tiered breathing:

Breathe a 3rd into your stomach.
Pause
Breathe upwards until your lungs are nearly full.
Pause
Breathe until your breath reaches your head. Send yourself a thought of compassion/gratitude for taking the time to fill your mind/body.

Tip to soothe sympathetic system

Eye Palming - when you notice distressing emotions rub your hands vigorously together like you are starting a fire 🔥

When you have built some friction take a deep breath, place your warm hands on your eyes. Feel the energy dissipate. Release your breath!
