Reese held onto his dad close, and started crying. He was too emotional to say anything else.
“I love you dad.”

Billy sighed and said "I know buddy. Nobody is taking me away from you, alright?"
Reese hugged his dad close, wiping his tears away, just- clinging to him. He couldn’t get the words out. “It’s not fair what they did to you dad. Not fair that I couldn’t see you for 6 months.” Reese didn’t want to talk about his dad having been in jail. It scared him. “Don’t go away! Please!”
