actually Houston is set to lose all but 1 of their 5 Dems. The Repubs also reduced urban Houston polling stations, reduced hours and ballot drop offs. Meanwhile red suburbs have plenty. They are suppressing voters by making them stand in line for hours.

They could have rotated a few in and out was one option. Also, many white collar jobs can be done remotely. From a financial pov it is not clear they exhausted legal options for support. It was a good idea, but now the Repubs own them like chattel. Houston will lose its rightful representation.

The Revolutionary War was a war against the Crown government. The US Civil War should count as well. I cannot think of anything in since the Civil War as bad as what is happening right now that would call for an uprising. So I guess we should give up? I am not.

I don't like the part where they return and the Abbott calls another special session. It sounds like they are gonna let him get away with it, leaving the fourth largest city in the US with only 1 of 5 what should be democratic reps. Plus, you know Abbott is gonna use the state police to grab them.

Indeed, it is not poorly planned. As I posted previously, it will make it likely that very Blue Houston (4th biggest city in US) would lose at least 3 of 4 seats. Houston was already gerrymandered and now are actively cheating.

If successful all Blue districts will be Red and a heavily Blue city will be only represented by Red. 4th biggest city!
