That’s fair honestly. For me, the hype of seeing a new Star Wars movie on the big screen probably made me more receptive to it than I would’ve been otherwise, but I still generally feel like it was decent. Maybe it played too safe, but it was fun enough and introduced (imo) interesting characters.

My take is that I really really really enjoyed seeing TFA in theaters, thought it was a good enough starting off point for a new trilogy, and that it would‘ve aged a lot better if there was... any sort of part or *at least* a central vision, instead of having 2/3 different directors

Also, making the decision to leave the Jedi for whatever reason is in someways a very Jedi move. You’re recognizing you want something different out of life and letting go of your current circumstances.

If you don’t go full Dark Side, I imagine most Jedi would fully respect that decision.

Tbf, I think those 20 were all Jedi Masters, and it’s totally possible that there were a lot more who left as like Padawans or Knights.

But yeah, leaving wasn’t considered shameful and they defended Dooku… up until it was clear he was working with a bunch of corporate armies to start a war.

So this time, Yoda *should* be listening to the voice of dead people in his head, which he shouldn’t have expected to taken seriously for later on?

again, Yoda felt incredible Pain from Anakin, not a play by play of Anakin’s murder spree
November 8, 2025 at 9:11 PM
… … … Except in Aotc, Mace was telling Obi-wan to have faith in Anakin. They only start distrusting him when he basically agrees sit on the council as Palpatine’s (totally not a spy) representative.
November 8, 2025 at 9:08 PM
So the Jedi should’ve been on Anakin’s butt since he was too powerful to be trusted? Yeah that would’ve gone over super well all the times Anakin *wasn‘t* covering up horrific crimes. Surely would’ve made Anakin a better Jedi instead of a better lair and an even more bitter person
November 8, 2025 at 9:04 PM
As I said In a different reply, Anakin’s pain could’ve been Anakin sensing Obi-wan being in danger, Padme and Anakin then leaving Naboo to go help him, and passing the message along the way.

It’s a reasonable assumption given circumstances, that doesn’t jump through logical hoops to get to murder.
November 8, 2025 at 9:01 PM
And that says what exactly? That the Jedi them have blanket permission to search her ships navigation systems?
November 8, 2025 at 8:58 PM
They gave her a chance to argue her case and she presented no real evidence to prove why she was framed. She didn’t explain why she broke out, couldn’t explain the dead bodies, didn’t explain how she found the bombs…

They didn’t declare her guilty, just that there was enough evidence for a trial.
November 8, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Sure, but that requires Padme to give them permission to snoop around on her personal starship… which she wouldn’t since he’s helpimg cover it up. An equally likely scenrio, Anakin sensed Obi-wan was in trouble, he and Padme went to help him, and them received and passed along his message midway.
November 8, 2025 at 8:52 PM
What strings do that have to pull?
November 8, 2025 at 8:48 PM
… You’re saying that since the Hardeen arc happened, the council should‘ve assumed automatically that Ahsoka was framed????

This seems to be a case of protagonist bias, since Ahsoka looks so damn guilty from any other prospective
November 8, 2025 at 8:48 PM
They even didn’t know he was tatooine, he was supposed to guarding Padme on Naboo.
November 8, 2025 at 8:44 PM
So they accuse Anakin and then what, get stonewalled by him (who justifying his crimes to himself) and Padme (who married the guy after he confessed to a massacre).

Maybe they find out, but it requires them to stumble across an actual lead other than ‘Vibes Bad’
November 8, 2025 at 8:39 PM
‘I didn’t murder anyone, I’m being framed’
‘Then why were you found out of your cell, weapons in hand, standing over several dead bodies, and immediately going on the run?’
‘Cause I‘m being framed‘

like yes, she was framed, but she just kept digging herself into a deeper and deeper hole
November 8, 2025 at 8:36 PM
No, they knew something bad *happened*

Are you saying they should‘ve just accused Anakin of… ’an extremely obvious bad thing’ based on that alone
November 8, 2025 at 8:30 PM
… Are you conflating a purposeful undercover operation with Ahsoka’s reckless self-incrimination?

They may have been pressured to expel her to face trial, but they only complied since she made herself look insanely guilty
November 8, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Not acting on something you know nothing =/= ‘covering up a war crime.’

The Jedi are the first case, Padme is the second. If you are arguing the Jedi knowing something bad happened is the same as Padme‘s culpability, I don’t think there’s much of point in continuing this discussion.
November 8, 2025 at 8:26 PM
That’s what a trial is for.
November 8, 2025 at 8:22 PM
… zero benefit of the doubt? When Ahsoka fled her cell and several dead bodies, worked with Ventress, and was found with the bombs used in the bombing?

That isn’t throwing her to the wolves, that’s acting on the evidence her actions gave them
November 8, 2025 at 8:21 PM
I mean, there was a lot of doubt if he was the chosen one, Qui-gon believed it fully but the others were more hesitant, since the ‘future is always in motion.’

Either way, is the Jedi’s (maybe) Chosen One more important than the galaxy scale war that just popped off?
November 8, 2025 at 8:19 PM
No, they expelled her to face trial and invited her back when she was found to be framed. She rejected the offer as she had lost faith in a lot of things, including herself.

Also, are you saying the Jedi should protect their members from the law? Like ‘we investigated ourselves, we‘re good’ stuff?
November 8, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Again, that doesn’t prove anything. Okay, something bad happened around Anakin. He wouldn’t say crap, he was somewhere they had no reason to believe he would go to (he was supposed to stay on Naboo to guard Padme), the only other person who knew covered for him.

What do they do?
