I am no longer LDS. But will give some insight on the coffee any why Joseph Smith proclaimed it unhealthy, it was not the caffeine, there was much more tanic acid in coffee in the 1800s along with drinking liquid too hot is bad for the lining in your stomach. Tea also had a lot of tanic acid.
